After nearly 24 hours of public voting, Kim Shantal and Alberto del Río faced off in a challenge to determine who would take on the coveted role. Fabiola Campomanes, La Bea, and Sergio Mayer Mori were also eligible contenders. However, Alfredo Adame, César Doroteo (the previous Capataz), and Eleazar Gómez, who are already designated as “peones” (farmhands), were ineligible for the position, according to reports.
The competition came down to a giant lottery-style game, with spaces representing characters and objects from the show, including the cow “Jacinta” and the pig “Bacon.” Kim Shantal was just one space away from completing her board when Alberto del Río was crowned the winner.
Becoming El Capataz grants significant authority, second only to Tío Pepe, El Mayoral (the farm manager). Responsibilities include assigning tasks such as animal care, tending to the vegetable garden, and maintaining common areas. The Capataz also receives a weekly evaluation that determines the farm’s budget for the following week.

Several contestants have yet to experience the role: Kim Shantal, Alfredo Adame, and Eleazar Gómez. Furthermore, most of the eliminated contestants left the competition without ever having been Capataz, including Carolina Ross, Sandra Itzel, Omahi, Jawy Méndez, Manola Díez, and Lis Vega.
