Alex Vizorek, accompanied by ten musicians and a visual artist, is offering a fresh and playful take on a classic. The musical and visual experience is designed for audiences of all ages.
On Tuesday, March 17th, comedian Alex Vizorek will take the stage at La Baleine, joined by ten instrumentalists and a visual artist, to reimagine Camille Saint-Saëns’ “Carnival of the Animals” in a version tailored for both children and adults. “Let’s imagine a large, a very large party, And like La Fontaine, let’s invite only beasts!” Vizorek shared.
Composed by Camille Saint-Saëns in 1886, “The Carnival of the Animals” is a suite for instrumental ensemble that has become a beloved classic. This playful animal-themed work provides an ideal opportunity to introduce classical music to young listeners. The performance, featuring ten musicians, consists of fifteen successive movements, each presenting animals through music and original texts written specifically for the indicate and performed by Alex Vizorek. The presentation is further enhanced by live illustrations created by visual artist Karo Pauwels.
The reimagining of Saint-Saëns’ work highlights a growing trend of artists blending comedy and classical music to reach wider audiences. This performance promises a unique and engaging experience for families and music enthusiasts alike.
