A scheduling conflict is brewing in Peruvian football as Alianza Lima resists pressure from the Ministry of the Interior to postpone its annual “Noche Blanquiazul” celebration. The dispute centers on potential security concerns related to a possible visit from Inter Miami and Lionel Messi [[1]], raising questions about balancing major sporting events and honoring long-held traditions for the club’s dedicated fanbase. While Alianza Lima aims to protect plans for the 55,000 fans already anticipating the event, rival club Universitario maintains its own celebratory night will proceed as scheduled.

Lima, Peru – Alianza Lima is standing firm in its plans for its annual “Noche Blanquiazul” celebration, despite a request from the Peruvian Ministry of the Interior (MININTER) to reschedule the event. The club has publicly responded, stating that a rescheduling “should not exist,” according to multiple reports.

The request from MININTER reportedly stems from concerns surrounding the potential arrival of Lionel Messi in Peru for a friendly match. Alianza Lima officials have strongly refuted any suggestion that the “Noche Blanquiazul” – a highly anticipated event for fans – should be altered to accommodate Messi’s visit. The club emphasized the importance of not disrupting plans for the 55,000 fans already anticipating the spectacle.

“It should be prioritized the sale of tickets, it is not the same to harm 55,000 people than 10,000,” said club representative Bruno Gilabert, highlighting the scale of the event and the impact a postponement would have on supporters.

Meanwhile, Universitario, a rival club, has taken a contrasting stance, publicly contradicting Alianza Lima’s claims. According to reports from Diario Libero, the “Noche Crema” – Universitario’s own celebratory night – is proceeding as planned and does not require any adjustments.

Alianza Lima’s “Noche Blanquiazul” is a cornerstone event in Peruvian football, traditionally featuring a showcase match and vibrant fan displays. The club’s resolute response to the MININTER’s request underscores its commitment to honoring its supporters and maintaining the integrity of the long-standing tradition. The situation remains fluid as discussions continue regarding Messi’s potential visit and its impact on the Peruvian sporting calendar. The club is determined to ensure the event proceeds smoothly for its dedicated fanbase.
