Two minors have been arrested in Almere, Netherlands, in connection with an explosion at a local residence.
The incident occurred around 7:30 PM Saturday at a home on Klimtstraat. No one was injured, but both the affected house and a neighboring property sustained significant damage. Authorities reported the fire spread through the wall cavity to the adjacent home, requiring demolition of a portion of the exterior wall to extinguish the blaze.
Earlier that evening, police stopped two boys in a different part of the city. One was found to be carrying a weapon and was immediately taken into custody. Based on security camera footage and a description of the suspects, the second boy was arrested later Saturday night. Both remain in police custody. Authorities have not released the identities of the minors.
The house where the explosion took place has been sealed off by Almere’s mayor, Van der Loo. Security cameras have also been installed in the area.
Another explosion occurred at the same residence on December 10, according to Omroep Flevoland.
