Alwi Farhan continued his impressive run at All England 2026, securing a quarterfinal berth with a decisive victory over former Taiwanese star Chou Tien Chen.
Farhan and Chou faced off on Court 4 of the Utilita Arena on Thursday, March 5, 2026, with Farhan claiming the match in 54 minutes, 21-13, 21-19.
The Indonesian will now face a challenging quarterfinal matchup against second-seeded Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand as he aims for a spot in the semifinals.

Farhan dominated the first game, racing to a 9-1 lead with a seven-point streak, and extending it to 11-2 at the interval.
Alwi Farhan continued to pull away, building a 15-4 advantage. Chou mounted a brief comeback, closing the gap to 10-15, but Farhan quickly regained control, reaching game point at 20-11.
Chou added two more points, but Farhan closed out the first game with a score of 21-13.
The second game saw a stronger challenge from Chou Tien Chen. He took an early lead, 4-1, and then 8-6, before reaching the interval ahead 11-7. Farhan began to chip away at the deficit.
A lengthy rally tested Chou’s stamina, and Farhan capitalized on a failed return to narrow the gap to 10-12.
Farhan then surged ahead, winning four consecutive points to seize a 14-12 lead. He continued to pressure Chou, forcing errors and extending his advantage to 16-13 with a deceptive drop shot.
Trailing 13-18, Chou Tien Chen rallied with four straight points, bringing the score within one. Farhan reached match point at 20-19, and a long lob from Chou sealed the victory for Alwi, 21-19.
