India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir took a brief pause from preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup semifinal to attend the wedding of Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Gambhir, accompanied by his wife Natasha Jain, attended the ceremony in Mumbai just hours before India’s crucial clash against England at the Wankhede Stadium. The wedding, planned by Eternity by Trinity, followed an engagement announced on August 25, 2025.

The event drew a significant crowd from the Indian cricket community, including MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Suresh Raina, according to reports. Gambhir, who played alongside Sachin Tendulkar during India’s 2011 World Cup victory, was seen interacting with the Tendulkar family.

The India-England semifinal winner will advance to the T20 World Cup final on Sunday, March 8, in Ahmedabad. India has had a strong run in the tournament so far, winning six of their seven matches, with their only loss coming against South Africa in the Super 8 stage.

Gambhir’s presence at the wedding underscores the close-knit nature of the Indian cricket fraternity, even amidst the high stakes of a major international tournament.

Coach Gautam Gambhir was too seen with former teammates Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra at the wedding celebration.
