As the holiday concert season heats up across Norway, established stars Anita Skorgan, Rein Alexander, and Elisabeth “Bettan” Andreassen are taking preventative measures to safeguard their performances amid rising concerns over seasonal illnesses. The popular trio, currently touring with their “Deilig er jorden” show, are prioritizing their health to avoid disruption to a highly anticipated string of concerts scheduled throughout December.

Amidst a busy holiday tour schedule, Anita Skorgan (67), Rein Alexander (54), and Elisabeth “Bettan” Andreassen (67) are taking extra precautions to stay well.

The artists fear that the flu and winter colds will disrupt their concerts – and are determined to do everything possible to remain healthy.

In a recent post on Facebook, Anita shared a photo of the group wearing masks at Flesland Airport. The caption reads: “Staying healthy on the holiday concert tour! Today on the way to Volda, then Ålesund, Molde, Kristiansund, Oppdal, Røros and Trondheim. Hooray!”

The Norwegian stars are in the midst of a demanding “Deilig er jorden” (Beautiful is the Earth) tour. Anita Skorgan and her fellow performers are traveling across the country, and none want illness to derail their plans or disappoint fans eagerly awaiting the beloved Christmas classics.

Masks on the Plane

When reached for comment, the group had arrived in Molde:

– For us, it’s important to try and stay healthy. Masks on the plane and no hugging after the concerts. Selfies are allowed, with a little distance. We’re taking it seriously – with a twinkle in our eye,” said Anita – and shared a photo of Bettan.

Star Lineup on Stage

The “Deilig er jorden” tour is larger than ever before. Anita, Elisabeth and Rein Alexander share the stage, together offering well-known and beloved Christmas songs such as “O Holy Night,” “Beautiful is the Earth,” and several of their own classics.

They are accompanied by a solid band led by musical director Petter Anthon Næss, as well as musicians Torbjørn Økland and Tarjei Nystedt.

Although Christmas music is what brings the artists together this month, Bettan, Anita and Rein Alexander all share a fascination with the Melodi Grand Prix (MGP). All have participated in the Norwegian final, but only Bettan has reached the top internationally!

Taking No Chances

Several concerts this season have already received rave reviews, with audiences describing the atmosphere as “powerful,” “moving,” and “genuine Christmas magic.”

With the flu, RSV, and other respiratory infections circulating, the risk of illness is high in December, prompting the artists to prioritize their health.

The artists have a packed schedule through their final concert on December 22nd. And then, the “Christmas stars” can finally take a well-deserved holiday break.
