Audi’s China-exclusive sister brand AUDI has unveiled the exterior design of its second production model, the all-electric E7X SUV, ahead of its debut at the Auto China 2026 motor show in Beijing.
The vehicle, revealed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology after Audi applied for a sales license in China, is a large SUV measuring 5,049 mm in length, 2,002 mm in width, and 1,708 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.
Fermín Soneira, CEO of the cooperation project between Audi and SAIC, described the E7X as “an SUV without compromises,” noting its confident stance, sporty proportions, and progressive design that balance emotion with everyday usability.
The E7X features clean surfaces and characteristic light graphics at the front and rear, giving it a monolithic and striking appearance. Its upright front includes digitally arranged Matrix LED headlights within a black wraparound loop, while powerfully sculpted wheel arches and short overhangs emphasize its dynamic character.
Two powertrain variants will be offered: a rear-wheel-drive model with a single motor producing 300 kW (402 hp) and an all-wheel-drive version adding a 200 kW (268 hp) front motor for a combined output of 500 kW (670 hp). Both motors are supplied by SAIC’s subsidiary, Huayu Automotive.
The AWD variant has a curb weight of 2,673 kg and a top speed of 230 km/h. The SUV will be available with optional 21- or 22-inch wheels and uses a battery sourced from CATL, though capacity details have not been disclosed.
The model will debut at Auto China 2026, running from April 24 to May 3 in Beijing. Pre-sales for the E7X are set to open on May 8, following the launch of the Audi E5 Sportback in 2025. A third model is planned for 2027.
Audi and SAIC Motor recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement to deepen their partnership, including the establishment of the Audi Innovation Technology Center in Shanghai. The center will focus on R&D for intelligent electrification technology and the full value chain development of Intelligent Connected Vehicles, aiming to provide cutting-edge technology and intelligent solutions for users.
The company stated that the E7X carries forward the expressive design language of the AUDI E SUV concept revealed at Auto Guangzhou 2025, combining Audi’s technological expertise with SAIC’s innovations in China’s digital ecosystem to meet the needs of local customers.
