Inflation eased further in January, driven by falling energy costs, according to recently released data. The decline in inflation provides a potential boost to consumer spending and could influence central bank policy decisions.

Energy prices fell 4.0 percent year-over-year in January. Meanwhile, the cost of food and beverages increased by 2.6 percent. The core inflation rate, which excludes volatile components like energy and food, decreased to 2.2 percent from 2.3 percent. These figures confirm initial estimates.

Overall prices decreased by a revised 0.6 percent compared to the previous month, a slight adjustment from the initially reported 0.5 percent decline. Core consumer prices fell by 1.1 percent over the same period.

The easing of inflationary pressures comes as policymakers closely monitor economic indicators. The latest data suggests a continued moderation in price increases, although concerns remain about potential future volatility.
