Swiss singer Baschi and his wife, Alana Netzer, are going to be parents! The couple first announced they were expecting their first child in late 2025, and now Baschi has revealed they’re having a boy through his latest single, “Bürgin.”
In the song, Baschi sings to his deceased family members, “What would I give to have my son see you.” He continued, “My half of the family is looking down from heaven. I think they’re proud of their cool boy.” Speaking with Blick, Baschi shared, “When we found out it was a boy, we were, of course, happy. We actually secretly wished for a son.” He jokingly added, “If he has even half my energy and is as cheeky as I am, we’re in for some sleepless nights.”
Baby Name Remains a Secret
Alana shared in December that she’s been having a relatively easy pregnancy. “I’ve been largely spared the typical symptoms you often hear about,” she told the publication. She has experienced occasional fatigue.
The positive pregnancy test came as a complete surprise to the couple. “At the same time, there was a certain caution, because everything is still very fragile in the beginning,” they explained. “The big emotional moment came during the ultrasound, when we saw the baby and heard its heartbeat – it was simply magical.”
Baschi is fully supporting Alana throughout the pregnancy. “I’m at every doctor’s appointment and trying to relieve Alana as much as possible in everyday life and give her rest,” the singer said. The nursery is almost completely finished. As for the baby’s name, they’re still deciding: “There are a few clear favorites, but nothing has been decided yet.”
