Heavy rainfall and flooding in Bogor have prompted flood alerts in Bekasi since Wednesday night. Water from the overflowing Cileungsi River reached the Bekasi River around midnight. The Cileungsi River’s water level reached a critical “Siaga 1” (Alert Level 1) status, measuring 410 cm as of 7:30 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
The rising water levels pose a potential threat to communities downstream, prompting local authorities to urge residents to prepare for possible evacuations. This situation underscores the region’s vulnerability to flooding during periods of heavy rainfall.
According to reports, areas potentially impacted include Vila Nusa Indah 1 and 2 in Bogor regency, as well as several neighborhoods in Bekasi, such as Villa Nusa Indah 5, Bumi Mutiara, Pangkalan 1A, Vila Jatirasa, Pondok Gede Permai, Kemang Ifi Graha, Pondok Mitra Lestari, Pekayon Jaya, Kemang Pratama, and Delta Pekayon.
Officials are advising residents in these areas to accept precautionary measures, including elevating belongings, moving vehicles to higher ground, and preparing to evacuate to safer locations. They are also urging people to remain calm and monitor the water levels closely. The case highlights the importance of proactive disaster preparedness in flood-prone regions.
As of 7:25 PM on Wednesday, the water level at the upstream point of the Cileungsi River was at 410 cm, signifying the highest alert level. The upstream Cikeas River measured 90 cm at 6:45 PM, remaining within normal limits at 200 cm. The confluence of the Cileungsi and Cikeas Rivers registered 50 cm at 6:45 PM, well below its normal level of 350 cm.
