Swimming also demonstrated a significant association with longevity, with a 28% reduced risk of death. Cycling showed a 15% reduction, while team sports like soccer and rugby were linked to a 12% decrease in mortality risk. Even less intense activities, such as jogging, were associated with a 9% reduction.
