Bosch Enhances eBike Flow App with Trick Detection and Health Tracking
Bosch has released a free update for its eBike Flow app, introducing a suite of new features designed to gamify the riding experience and improve health monitoring. The latest version now allows the system to detect and record “tricks,” specifically identifying wheelies and jumps performed by the rider.

In addition to trick detection, the update introduces the ability to measure the rider’s pulse, integrating fitness data more deeply into the eBike ecosystem. These additions signal a shift toward a more interactive and health-conscious user experience, blending athletic performance tracking with recreational riding.
Beyond software updates, Bosch is expanding its hardware compatibility and safety offerings. A new iPhone holder is now available that supports portrait orientation, providing riders with more flexibility in how they mount their devices. The company continues to emphasize rider safety through the integration of Bosch eBike ABS, bringing advanced braking innovation to modern e-bikes.
The eBike Flow app serves as the central hub for the Bosch smart system, aiming to make riding safer and more personalized. The app provides a comprehensive overview of vehicle status, including current battery levels, total distance traveled, and upcoming service appointments. For navigation, users can utilize their smartphone or the Kiox 300 and Kiox 500 displays, with the ability to plan detailed routes or import them directly from Strava or komoot.
Security remains a core pillar of the smart system. The eBike Lock feature, available free of charge, allows a smartphone or a compatible display to act as a digital key. the motor support is only enabled when the registered device is nearby. For enhanced protection, the “Battery Lock” feature—available as a premium service via Flow+—digitally secures the battery to prevent unauthorized leverage if stolen. Users with a ConnectModule can access Flow+ for free for 12 months, while those without it receive one month free.
The app likewise offers extensive customization for the riding experience. Users can personalize riding modes and configure the screen layouts for the Purion 200, Kiox 300, and Kiox 500 displays. This level of integration highlights Bosch’s continued investment in creating a connected digital ecosystem for micromobility.
