Brahim Diaz has publicly announced his conversion to Islam, sharing a personal statement about finding peace and conviction in the faith. The Real Madrid midfielder revealed his decision via a social media post on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

“Today I have chosen the path where I felt true peace… I have chosen Islam with conviction and certainty, and I ask God to keep me firm and guide me to the right way,” Diaz stated. “This decision was not easy, but it came from my heart… and thank God for the blessings of Islam.”

The announcement comes as Diaz continues to build his profile with both Real Madrid and the Moroccan national team, having recently participated in preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Discussions surrounding his faith have been circulating online, with several posts addressing the question of whether Diaz is Muslim or Christian, as seen on TikTok and another TikTok post.
