Capitals Recall Forward Ethen Frank from Hershey Bears
The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Ethen Frank from the Hershey Bears on Monday, addressing a need on their roster after an injury to a key player.
The recall comes as Dylan Strome sustained a lower-body injury during Saturday night’s game against the Ottawa Senators and did not participate in Monday’s practice. Frank, 27, has appeared in two games with the Capitals this season, recording one assist – a primary assist on a Tom Wilson power-play goal on October 24th against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He previously spent time with the Capitals from October 17th to October 25th.
Frank has been a significant contributor to the Bears, a top affiliate in the American Hockey League, with two goals in three games this season. Last season, he played in 24 NHL games for Washington, totaling seven points (4 goals, 3 assists). He is a two-time Calder Cup champion with Hershey, and his ability to score consistently makes him a valuable asset. You can find more information about the Capitals’ roster here.
The Capitals announced the move this afternoon, noting Frank has registered eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) in 26 career NHL games and 127 points (82 goals, 45 assists) in 164 career AHL games with Hershey. Officials stated Frank will rejoin the team immediately.
