China Central Television (CCTV) has officially secured the broadcasting rights for the 2026 World Cup, ensuring the tournament’s global spectacle will be available to viewers across China. The agreement was finalized on May 15, 2026, after CCTV and FIFA reached a consensus on copyright cooperation for the event.
The upcoming tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, is expected to be one of the most expansive in history. To bring the action to the Chinese market, internal media reports indicate the cost of the rights is approximately $60 million.
