Four celebrities will test their knowledge for a good cause when “Promi-Millionenshow für LICHT INS DUNKEL” airs on ORF 2 and ORF ON on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 8:15 PM. The special edition of the popular quiz show will feature influencer Anna Strigl, musical star Maya Hakvoort, ORF political expert Hans Bürger, and renowned chef Max Stiegl, all competing to win up to €75,000 for charity.
The funds raised will benefit LICHT INS DUNKEL, a well-known Austrian charity, with Schönbrunn Group, Lidl Österreich, and AURENA.Tech providing the prize money.
Anna Strigl, known for her appearances on “Dancing Star,” confessed she grew up watching the show with her grandparents. “I always watched the show with my grandparents and guessed along. I’m very curious to see how it feels to sit in the hot seat myself,” she said. Strigl even prepped for the challenge using ChatGPT, simulating the show to practice. “Whether that helped, who knows!?” she added, admitting she might need to rely on her phone-a-friend lifeline – “very smart friends and acquaintances” – when it comes to politics and history.
Maya Hakvoort immediately accepted the invitation to participate, stating, “It’s for a good cause! However, I usually prepare well for my performances, but here with the ‘Millionenshow’ you have to know what you’ve got inside – and hopefully be able to recall it.” The musical star, who has lived in Austria for 31 years, acknowledged a potential challenge. “Although I’ve lived in Austria for 31 years, it’s a bit more difficult for me as a Dutch woman because I don’t know certain Austrian terms.” She’s equipped with a strong support system, including a joker for politics and sports, a chemistry and physics teacher, and Viktor Gernot, “who is an all-rounder!” Hakvoort plans to play it safe. “I will play it safe and not take any risks. It’s too dangerous and too much money to lose.”
ORF’s interior policy expert, Hans Bürger, initially hesitated before accepting the invitation. “It’s particularly embarrassing for an information journalist if they don’t know everything – but then I said yes anyway.” He also confirmed he won’t be taking unnecessary risks. “If I reach a certain amount, I won’t gamble any further.”
Top chef Max Stiegl was thrilled with the invitation, saying, “It will certainly be fun, although I haven’t really prepared.” The Burgenland native isn’t nervous, as being in front of the camera is part of his profession. When asked if he’d take risks, Stiegl replied, “I haven’t set a fixed goal for today, I often make decisions based on instinct – but if, for example, there are questions about celebrities I’ve never heard of, then I’m lost!”
Contestants will face 15 challenging quiz questions covering a range of topics, including this sample question:
