Bali played host to the OPPO Run 2025, powered by myBCA, on November 30, 2025, attracting a record-breaking 7,000 runners from 20 countries. The annual sporting event showcased a unique blend of athletics, community engagement, technology, and social impact.

The race began under clear skies, with participants tackling 5K, 10K, and half-marathon (21K) courses. Spectators lined the route, creating a vibrant atmosphere from start to finish. The event flowed seamlessly, from pre-race preparations and warm-ups to runners embarking on the scenic Bali course.

Patrick Owen, Vice President of OPPO Indonesia, expressed his appreciation for the overwhelming enthusiasm shown by participants since Race Pack Day. He emphasized that the OPPO Run is more than just a competition. “This year feels very special. Seeing thousands of runners come together with such energy confirms that OPPO Run is a space for everyone to Make Your Moment,” Owen stated. “The inclusion of the OPPO Find X9 Series also adds a new dimension to the running experience, allowing participants to capture their best moments with exceptional camera and video quality along the route.”

OPPO Find X9 Series Takes Center Stage

For the first time in Indonesia, technology played a prominent role in a running event. Throughout the course, many participants utilized the OPPO Find X9 Series to document their journey. This was largely due to the flagship device’s 200MP Hasselblad Telephoto camera, capable of capturing the stunning Balinese landscapes in remarkable detail.

The device’s 4K 120fps Dolby Vision video capabilities also proved popular, enabling runners to record cinematic footage even while in motion. “This OPPO Find X9 is fantastic for quick photos,” said participant Tjandra. “Make Your Moment is more fun and effortless.”

A 7500mAh battery and the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset ensured runners could record their activities from start to finish without battery concerns. The integration of high-end smartphone technology into a sporting event reflects a growing trend of enhancing experiences through mobile innovation.

New Winners and Records Set

Ideal weather conditions and a challenging course contributed to a day of impressive performances and new champions.

James Kahura won the 21K Overall Male category with a time of 01:08:54, setting a new race record. Lydia Naliaka Wamalwa claimed victory in the 21K Overall Female category with a time of 01:21:09.

Indonesian runner Nurshodiq dominated the 10K category, finishing in 00:32:26. Novia Nur Nirwani emerged as the Overall Female champion in the 10K with a time of 00:38:34.

Marselinus Manjur recorded the fastest time of 00:16:32 in the 5K National Male category, while Ni Ketut Cita led the 5K National Female category with a time of 00:19:31.

The OPPO Run 2025 awarded a total of Rp545.5 million (approximately $34,000 USD) to the winners, making it one of Indonesia’s most lucrative running events.

Charity Runners Raise Over Rp700 Million

The event also extended its impact beyond athletics through its charitable component. Like previous years, the OPPO Run featured Charity Runners, who dedicated their participation to fundraising efforts.

This year, a total of Rp704,258,205 (approximately $44,000 USD) was raised. All proceeds will be donated to the YCAB Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on empowering underprivileged families through education.

Veronica Colondam, Founder & CEO of YCAB Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support from runners and OPPO. “This collaboration demonstrates that every step can open doors to a brighter future for children in need. It’s not just about scholarships, but about new hope,” she explained.

The funds will be used to expand access to education for families in need, including youth development programs and scholarships for quality education.

A Celebration Beyond the Race

Beyond the competition, the OPPO Run 2025 offered a world-class experience, featuring a music festival, community zones, and support from sponsors including BCA, BCAinsurance, ISOPLUS, Le Minerale, MILLS, Fitness Plus, Garuda Indonesia, and Indofood. These elements created a comprehensive experience for runners and their families.

The event underscored the power of sports to foster community. It provided a memorable first experience for novice runners, a platform for professionals to break records, and a space for families to create lasting memories.
