Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer faces a longer recovery period after suffering a new injury that will sideline him for this weekend’s Premier League match against Burnley.

Palmer initially sustained a thigh injury in September, causing him to miss 11 consecutive matches for The Blues. After returning to training, the young star unfortunately suffered a fractured toe in a home incident.

As a result, he will be unavailable for the next three games, including the Champions League clash against Barcelona and the London derby against Arsenal next week, confirmed Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

“He is not available for tomorrow (against Burnley), against Barcelona, and against Arsenal,” Maresca stated on Friday, November 21, 2025, as quoted by BBC.

“Unfortunately, he had an accident at home that injured his toe. It’s not a serious thing, but he won’t be able to play until next week,” the Italian coach explained.

Palmer has featured in four matches across all competitions this season, scoring two goals. He has also missed the last two months of action with the England national team, sitting out six international fixtures.
