CD Projekt Group, the Polish video game developer behind the critically acclaimed Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher series, announced record profits for the third quarter and provided updates on its upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next installment in The Witcher franchise.

The company reported a significant increase in revenue, boosted by strong sales of Cyberpunk 2077, which has now surpassed 35 million units sold worldwide. The release of the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition also contributed to the financial success. This performance underscores the enduring popularity of open-world role-playing games and the continued demand for immersive gaming experiences.

According to recent financial disclosures, development of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, currently referred to as Cyberpunk 2077: Project Orion, is actively underway. However, the company indicated that its immediate focus remains on completing Witcher 4, codenamed Project Polaris. Full-scale development of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is not expected to begin until after 2027.

During a recent earnings call, CD Projekt Group revealed that revenue for the third quarter of 2025 is projected to grow by 53%. The company’s financial health allows for continued investment in ambitious projects and expansion of its development teams.

The company stated that the development of Project Orion is happening concurrently with Project Polaris, but resources will be primarily allocated to the new Witcher game for the foreseeable future. This strategic approach allows CD Projekt to leverage its expertise and maintain a consistent pipeline of high-quality titles.

The news comes as CD Projekt Group continues to build on the success of Cyberpunk 2077, which overcame a rocky launch to become a commercial and critical success. The company’s commitment to long-term development and its focus on delivering compelling narratives have solidified its position as a leading force in the gaming industry.
