VENAMORIS Releases New Holiday Single, “Dreaming Of You”
Darkly romantic musical duo VENAMORIS, featuring drummer Dave Lombardo and vocalist Paula Lombardo, released their annual holiday single, “Dreaming Of You,” today.
The single marks the fourth festive offering from the pair, who released their debut album, “To Cross Or To Burn”, earlier this year via Ipecac Recordings. Paula Lombardo noted that what began as a one-time project has evolved into a yearly tradition, stating, “‘Dreaming Of You’ drifts in as our fourth unexpected holiday song — a wintry dreamscape about longing, connection, and the ghosts that live inside a melody.”
Dave Lombardo is a highly-regarded drummer known for his work with bands like Slayer, Fantômas, and Misfits, and has also explored diverse musical territories including hip-hop and classical music. Paula Lombardo began her career as a backing singer for Wayne Newton and later established herself as a songwriter in Nashville. Their collaborative work as VENAMORIS blends elements of dark jazz and exotica, as noted by critics at Treble Zine. The release of a holiday single from an artist known for extreme metal demonstrates a broadening of musical expression and audience reach.
VENAMORIS previously released the single “Contrapasso” in May, following the release of their album “Drown In Emotion” in 2023. The duo plans to continue recording and performing together, building on the momentum of their recent releases.
