KS DevelopRes Rzeszów announced on Monday, February 16, 2026, that it has parted ways with head coach Cesar Hernandez Gonzalez. The club thanked the coach for his contributions, including winning the Polish SuperCup, and wished him well in his future career.
The decision, according to a club statement, followed an analysis of the team’s current situation. Management determined that the team needed a boost of energy and momentum as it continues to compete for the Polish Championship and pursue its sporting goals.

Hernandez Gonzalez was in his first season with a Polish team, having previously coached Neptunes Nantes for two seasons. He led DevelopRes to the Superpuchar Polski title, but the team fell to PGE Budowlani Łódź in the recent Polish Cup semi-final. Reports at the time suggested concerns about his in-game management and responsiveness.
Jelena Blagojević, who has been with the club for years and served as Hernandez’s assistant this season, will take over as head coach. This marks the second consecutive year DevelopRes has made a mid-season coaching change, following the appointment of Stephane Antiga (now with LUK Lublin) last year.
DevelopRes currently leads the TAURON Liga with a record of 16 wins and one loss and will now focus on defending its national championship and making a strong run in the Champions League, where they are slated to face Eczacibasi Istanbul in the quarter-finals.
