Trump Jr. Calls on ‘The View’ Host to Honor Hostage Deal Promise

Donald Trump Jr. is publicly reminding Alyssa Farah Griffin of a pledge she made last year to wear a “MAGA” hat on air if former President Trump secured the release of Israeli hostages.

Farah Griffin, a former White House director of strategic communications under President Trump who later supported Kamala Harris, stated in December 2024, “If he does good, if he gets the Israeli hostages out, I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on the show and say, ‘Thank you for doing it!’” Following yesterday’s exchange of hostages and detainees between Israel and Hamas – with all 20 living Israeli hostages released by Hamas and Israel releasing over 1,900 prisoners – Trump Jr. retweeted the clip with the message, “Sending this to the top. Let’s go.”

On Monday’s episode of “The View,” Farah Griffin praised Trump’s role in the ceasefire, calling it a potentially “historic, massive diplomatic achievement.” She added, “I think everyone should be able to celebrate it…whether you like Trump or not, I think he, Steve Witkoff, and I think Jared Kushner do deserve credit for this deal.” She acknowledged a shift in her previous stance, stating, “I used to be of the mind we don’t negotiate with terrorists, but sometimes the only way to get peace is to sit down with some of the most evil people and try to come up with what we can do to end the bloodshed.” This deal represents a significant, though fragile, step toward broader stability in the Middle East, a region long plagued by conflict.

President Trump, speaking at the deal’s signing in Egypt, described the reunions of hostages with their families as “a beautiful thing to see,” while acknowledging the horrific circumstances that led to the agreement. Further negotiations are expected to solidify the terms of the ceasefire and address ongoing regional concerns, according to statements from the U.S. State Department and the United Nations.
