Former Romanian Professional Football League (LPF) President Dumitru Dragomir, 79, is set to embark on his family’s largest development project to date.

Construction is slated to begin in February 2026 on a residential complex in Pipera, built on land acquired in 2022 from Teodora Becali, the eldest daughter of Gigi Becali, owner of FCSB. The real estate venture marks a significant expansion for the Dragomir family into the property sector.

Spanning approximately 11,300 square meters, the family plans to build three 11-story buildings, totaling 36,800 square meters of floor space, according to documents reviewed by profit.ro.

Dumitru Dragomir’s €30 Million Investment

The complex will feature 303 apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms, distributed evenly across the three buildings. A total of 390 parking spaces will be available, located in the basement and partially on the ground floor.

Bogdan Dragomir, son of the former LPF president, stated the complex will likely be named “Crystal,” a name the family has used for other residential projects.

It will be the largest project we’ve undertaken so far, and it will be spectacular. I believe it’s the best land Becali had for sale.

It has access to Emil Racoviță Street and is located above the lake. We will also be taking out a bank loan for this project. The investment is estimated at around 30 million euros.

The Dragomir family already has a foothold in the real estate market. In March 2024, they completed the “Crystal North” project, situated approximately 500 meters from the new Pipera land. The development consists of two eight-story buildings with 118 apartments.

Dumitru Dragomir also owns the four-star Crystal Palace Hotel, located in the Aviației area. The hotel was built in 2003 and renovated in 2018.
