Recently revealed prototype photos offer the frist look at the vehicle’s design, hinting at a versatile and stylish offering in a competitive segment. Production is planned for Dacia’s Mioveni plant, building on the success of the Bigster model which garnered 50,000 orders in its first six months.
Dacia is preparing to launch the C-Neo in 2026, a raised compact estate that will expand the Romanian automaker’s lineup in the C-segment. The move signals Dacia’s ambition to broaden its appeal beyond its traditionally budget-focused offerings.
Recently surfaced photographs offer the first glimpses of the anticipated model’s design.
Exterior Design: Raised Estate with Fastback Styling
Table of Contents
The new Dacia C-Neo adopts the form of a raised compact estate, similar to models like the Audi A6 Allroad or Peugeot 508 RXH. Test prototypes reveal a vehicle estimated to be approximately 4.40 to 4.60 meters in length. This positions the C-Neo as a competitor in a segment increasingly focused on versatility and practicality.
The front design retains Dacia’s characteristic style, featuring angular lines and a near-vertical grille. The headlights are narrow, and the front fascia draws inspiration from the Bigster and Duster, with a prominent air intake. Dacia’s patented Starkle material, containing recycled elements, could be applied to the wheel arches and side sills.
A distinctive element is the aggressively sloped rear window line, approaching a coupe-like profile, which is uncommon for a traditional estate. This fastback approach gives the car a dynamic silhouette, reminiscent of designs from Audi or Hyundai. The rear features high-mounted, square, and narrow taillights positioned on the rear haunches.
Hybrid Powertrains and Platform
The Dacia C-Neo will utilize the Renault Group’s CMF-B LS platform, allowing for the adoption of powertrains from existing models. The range is expected to include a 1.2-liter three-cylinder mild-hybrid engine with a 48V electric system, also available in a LPG variant, as well as the 1.8-liter Hybrid 155 full-hybrid engine with a 16V architecture, introduced on the Bigster, producing approximately 160 horsepower.
The transmission will be a dual-clutch DW23, and the power output will range from 128 to 160 horsepower.
There are indications that a higher-riding Dacia Sandero Stepway version may enter production, and with the introduction of e-axle technology on the Duster and Bigster, the chances for all-wheel drive increase considerably.
Positioning and Target Audience
According to Dacia officials, the C-Neo will not replace the Jogger but will be a complementary offering for corporate clients, serving as a successor to the Renault Megane Grandtour. Dacia CEO Katrin Adt emphasized that the model is aimed at buyers who prefer a lower driving position and a more efficient vehicle than an SUV, without sacrificing spaciousness.
How Much Will the Dacia C-Neo Cost?
Dacia will apply its strategy of competitive pricing, as seen with the Bigster, by eliminating non-essential equipment. Estimates place the C-Neo around £20,000 on the British market, approximately £7,000-£9,000 less than a Seat Leon Estate or Skoda Octavia Estate. In the Romanian market, the price could start from €20,000-€23,000, according to autocar.co.uk.
The official launch is scheduled for 2026, with production at the Mioveni plant. The success of the Bigster, with 50,000 orders in the first six months, provides confidence that expansion into larger models is viable.
Frank Marotte, Dacia’s head of sales, told Autocar that a significant opportunity has been identified in the context of the withdrawal of models such as the Ford Focus and rising prices among rivals.
