A newlywed woman was killed Saturday in a domestic incident in the village of Mit Barra, located in the Qusaina district of the Al-Monufia Governorate, authorities said.

The victim, identified as Karima M., died at the hands of her husband, Ayman G., inside their home near the Al-Nasr Mosque in the center of the village, according to a source familiar with the situation. The couple had been married for just four months, having wed in July after becoming engaged in March.

Neighbors reportedly heard loud voices coming from the residence on Saturday before the incident was discovered. Police responded and took Ayman G. into custody, where he is being held for further investigation.

Karima M.’s body has been transported to the Shubin El-Kom Teaching Hospital, where a forensic examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death and whether any other injuries were sustained.
