A potential path toward ending the war in Ukraine is emerging with reports of a peace plan being developed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, details of which remain largely undisclosed. The proposal has prompted swift reactions from European leaders and ukraine, who are keen to ensure any negotiations prioritize Ukrainian sovereignty and reject terms of surrender.as the conflict nears it’s third year, and with continued debate over Western aid packages, the viability of any peace process increasingly hinges on international consensus and ukrainian acceptance. European officials are emphasizing a unified front, insisting Ukraine must be at the heart of any discussions.

Bonjour. Que pensent les européens et surtout l’Ukraine du plan de paix trumpien SVP ?

European foreign ministers reiterated Thursday, during a meeting of the Council on Foreign Affairs in Brussels,
“There can be no peace without Ukraine, and Europe must be at the negotiating table,” said Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Stenergard.

The “European peace plan rests on two pillars: first, weakening Russia, and second, supporting Ukraine,” emphasized Kaja Kallas,
the High Representative of the European Union. “What we Europeans have always supported is a durable and just peace,
and we welcome all efforts aimed at achieving it, but for a plan to work, Ukrainians and Europeans must support it,” she added.

French officials stated that “peace cannot be achieved through capitulation.”
“It’s easy to imagine that Ukrainians, who have been heroically resisting Russian aggression for over three years,
will always reject any form of surrender,” insisted French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, facing domestic political challenges, has remained cautious regarding the proposed
Russian-American peace plan. Zelensky committed to discussions aimed at securing a “dignified peace” for his country.
“Ukrainian and American teams will work on the points of the plan aimed at ending the war.
We are ready to work constructively, honestly, and quickly,” he said in a statement.
The Ukrainian leader also assured that he would speak “in the coming days” with his American counterpart, Donald Trump.

European Leaders and Ukraine Respond to Proposed Trump Peace Plan

Brussels and Kyiv are weighing their responses to a potential peace plan reportedly being developed by former U.S. President
Donald Trump, as European officials emphasize the necessity of Ukraine’s inclusion in any negotiations and reject any outcome
involving Ukrainian surrender. The development underscores the complex geopolitical landscape as the conflict in Ukraine continues.

During a meeting of the Council on Foreign Affairs in Brussels on Thursday, European foreign ministers underscored the principle
that “there can be no peace without Ukraine, and Europe must be at the negotiating table,” according to Swedish Foreign Minister
Maria Stenergard.

Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union, outlined the core tenets of the European approach to peace, stating
that it “rests on two pillars: first, weakening Russia, and second, supporting Ukraine.” She added, “What we Europeans have
always supported is a durable and just peace, and we welcome all efforts aimed at achieving it, but for a plan to work,
Ukrainians and Europeans must support it.”

France echoed this sentiment, with officials asserting that “peace cannot be achieved through capitulation.”
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized, “It’s easy to imagine that Ukrainians, who have been heroically resisting
Russian aggression for over three years, will always reject any form of surrender.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, currently navigating a period of political uncertainty, has adopted a measured approach
to the proposed Russian-American plan. In a statement, Zelensky committed to working towards a “dignified peace” for Ukraine,
announcing that “Ukrainian and American teams will work on the points of the plan aimed at ending the war.
We are ready to work constructively, honestly, and quickly.”

Zelensky also stated he plans to speak with Donald Trump “in the coming days” to discuss the matter further.
The announcement could influence future diplomatic talks and the trajectory of the conflict.
