Turkey’s diesel fuel prices are set to increase by 3 Turkish lira per liter starting April 25, 2026, according to multiple industry sources and market reports.
The price adjustment follows a recent 2.33 lira per liter discount that took effect on April 23, 2026, which market analysts note was short-lived due to rising global oil prices.
As of April 24, 2026, diesel fuel was trading at 69.35 lira per liter in Istanbul’s European side, 69.21 lira on the Asian side, 70.47 lira in Ankara, and 70.75 lira in Izmir. With the impending increase, prices in Istanbul are expected to exceed 72 lira per liter.
Gasoline prices in Istanbul stood at 62.76 lira per liter on the European side and 62.62 lira on the Asian side, while LPG was priced at 34.99 lira and 34.39 lira respectively. In Ankara, gasoline sold for 63.73 lira and LPG for 34.87 lira, and in Izmir, gasoline was 64.01 lira and LPG 34.79 lira per liter.
Market observers attribute the upward pressure on fuel costs to Brent crude oil surpassing the $100 per barrel threshold, reaching $106 per barrel amid geopolitical tensions, including reports of conflict between the United States and Iran influencing global energy markets.
The anticipated diesel increase reflects ongoing volatility in Turkey’s energy sector, where frequent adjustments to special consumption taxes and exchange rate fluctuations continue to directly impact retail fuel prices across major metropolitan areas.
