“江湖寻音,天地随行” (“Jianghu xun yin, tiandi sui xing”—“Seeking sounds in the rivers and lakes, heaven and earth accompany you”), the highly anticipated “Hu WeilI Recreates Classic Music Concert” has been officially announced, bringing a nostalgic wave to fans of Chinese film and television soundtracks. The concert series will run from March to May, with performances scheduled in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

Tickets for all three cities are now on sale, offering audiences a chance to revisit the golden age of Chinese cinema through the iconic music of composer Hu WeilI. Hu WeilI is a hugely influential figure in the world of Chinese film and television music, his career spanning several generations of the industry. His work is celebrated for blending martial arts heroism with everyday warmth.

The concert will feature 19 classic pieces from Hu WeilI’s decades-long career, including familiar scores from beloved productions like The Legend of the Condor Heroes (“碧海潮生曲” – “Bi Hai Chao Sheng Qu”), Tang Bohu Fights in Three Styles, The Deer and the Cauldron, and A Chinese Ghost Story. The selection aims to showcase the full range of Hu WeilI’s creative style and artistic achievements.

These compositions, ranging from grand and majestic to playful and lively, seamlessly blend traditional Chinese folk music with modern musical elements, appealing to a broad audience. The announcement comes as interest in classic Chinese soundtracks continues to grow, highlighting the enduring cultural impact of these films and television series.

The concert boasts a stellar lineup of performers. Vocalist Gao Tianhe and singer-songwriter Huang Wei Ming will take the stage, accompanied by the Tianjin Song and Dance Ensemble Orchestra. Soprano Zhang Xinxin will also perform and serve as the concert’s conductor, alongside conductor Li Bowei. The creative team includes Hu WeilI himself, along with sound designer and music producer Li Jiaqi, young composer Jin Fan, and music producer Wang Xinghe.

Performances are scheduled for March 28-29 in Beijing (three shows), April 10-11 in Shanghai (two shows), and May 23 in Shenzhen (two shows).
