Gran Turismo 7 is set to receive its first major update of 2026 with the release of version 1.69, launching on April 23, 2026. The update arrives alongside the kickoff of the new Gran Turismo World Series season, marking a significant milestone for the long-running racing simulation franchise.
According to the official announcement, Update 1.69 introduces three new vehicles to the game’s roster. Highlighting the lineup is the rare Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau (964) from 1993, a limited-production model with only 86 units ever built. Also joining the garage is the all-electric Yangwang U9 from 2024, described as a high-performance BEV supercar capable of accelerating from 0 to 62.1 mph in just 2.36 seconds. Rounding out the additions is the practical 1993 Renault Twingo, featuring a 1.2L inline-4 OHV engine.
Beyond the new cars, the update brings fresh competitive content with three additional World Circuits events now available for players to challenge. These races expand the game’s global track offerings and provide new opportunities for skill-based progression.
Enhancements to the game’s Scapes mode include the “Move the camera up and down III” curation, which adds greater height adjustability for in-game photography. This feature allows players to fine-tune their virtual camera positions for more dynamic shot composition.
Update 1.69 also rolls out the new “Power Pack Challenges” mode, a time-based event where players can earn rewards by completing a set number of races within a defined period. Progress and rewards can be tracked via the World Map screen or the Event Select interface. It’s worth noting that Power Pack is a paid add-on exclusive to the PlayStation 5 version of Gran Turismo 7.
Café enthusiasts will gain access to Extra Menu No. 53, titled “Collection: Muscle Cars,” available to players who have reached Collector Level 55 or higher.
The update will go live at 11:00 PM Pacific Time on April 22, 2026, which corresponds to 7:00 AM BST and 3:00 PM JST on April 23. With the new season of the Gran Turismo World Series now underway, players have fresh incentives to engage with the latest content.
