The Gruyère Festival is set to kick off with a free opening night on June 25th, featuring local acts Years of the Boomerang, known for their Rage Against the Machine covers, and Eden Flows. This initial event will set the stage for a diverse lineup of over 20 bands throughout the festival.
The festival, held on the shores of Lake Gruyère, will showcase a strong international presence, including Brazilian metal band Crypta, fronted by bassist and vocalist Fernanda Lira, formerly of Nervosa. American groups Embryonic Autopsy and Agriculture will also take the stage, with Agriculture garnering attention for their ecstatic black metal that celebrates life and beauty.
Hardcore fans will be pleased to see New York City mainstays Show Me The Body and Merauder on the bill. The festival is also spotlighting emerging talent, including the all-female trio Faetooth.
Adding a unique element to the lineup is Tristan Shone, a mechanical engineer who builds his own instruments for his industrial metal project, Author & Punisher. This innovative approach is drawing considerable buzz within the metal community.
