The investigation into his death, which occurred three months and 11 days ago, continues to unfold with the emergence of crucial evidence.

Investigators also found evidence suggesting Aroca was suffocated before his death.
Prosecutors indicated they possess a key piece of evidence that could significantly impact the case against those accused in the teenager’s murder.

How Harold Aroca Was Killed in Los Laches
Harold Aroca was reported missing in August 2025 while on his way to sports practice. Family members and a local resident who recorded a video of the incident, reported that the teen was approached by at least five individuals who forcibly took him away.
Aroca’s mother traveled from Cali to Bogotá to join the search, and after 10 days, received information regarding her son’s location.

“We arrived at the location where they said my son was. I started screaming hysterically. I went into the woods and told the Colonel I was going in, accompanied by my best friend and two acquaintances. We reached a point where we saw freshly cut branches. Then, when we met up with the other group, it became clear my son was going to be disappeared. We found his body covered in branches, and his father began to dig. My son left us little coins along the way,” she said.
The horrific discovery didn’t end there. Investigators also found a chilling note near the body that read, “Jajaja, this is what happens to snitches.” The note was recovered by the Prosecutor’s Office’s Technical Investigation Team (CTI).
