Kahitna vocalist Hedi Yunus was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after experiencing vertigo. He recounted the initial incident, which occurred while he was performing in Surabaya last week.
While checking into his hotel, he suddenly suffered a severe bout of vertigo, causing him to panic. He explained that the vertigo was so intense he had to be carried to his room by his team.
“I was carried to my room by the team and immediately vomited a lot. At that point, I thought it was food poisoning because what I vomited was my breakfast,” he shared via his Instagram account on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

He was then rushed to the hospital, admitted to the ICU, and underwent an MRI scan.
Hedi revealed he has a history of high blood pressure, a condition that runs in his family.
“I may be predisposed to high blood pressure due to my genetics. I’m still taking medication daily. Perhaps This represents an accumulation of exhaustion, even though my schedule hasn’t been as packed as it was at the end of last year. I’ve been getting enough sleep, but it seems like it’s finally caught up with me,” he explained.
What is Vertigo?
According to the Cleveland Clinic, vertigo is a condition in which a person experiences the sensation that their surroundings are spinning. This condition causes dizziness and loss of balance.
Vertigo isn’t a disease itself, but rather a symptom of various health problems. It can likewise occur alongside other symptoms.

The causes of vertigo can vary from person to person. Some risk factors include:
- Migraines
- Certain medications
- Stroke
- Irregular heartbeat
- Diabetes
- Head injury
- Low or high blood pressure
- Brain disorders and other conditions.
