From Helene Fischer at Frankfurt Stadium to Roxette at the Hessentag festival and Haftbefehl at WCD: Hesse’s concert calendar kicks off 2026 with major names – and intimate club shows. Here are our live music picks for the first six months.

You won’t have to travel far for great concerts in 2026: Hesse offers a range from stadium spectacles to intimate club experiences. This reflects a current trend – live music is booming, and fans are willing to go the distance for their favorite shows.

Shows from legends like Metallica, Peter Maffay, and the Toten Hosen are already sold out. But tickets are still available for other top stars. Here are our recommendations.

The Big Five

Frankfurt kicks things off in early summer with stadium season: Helene Fischer brings her 360-degree show to Deutsche Bank Park on June 19 and 20. This time, the focus is less on acrobatics and more on connection and a heartfelt “thank you” to fans who have supported her throughout the years. Expect all the hits you know, delivered as a fully immersive experience.

If you prefer indoor venues, the Frankfurt Festhalle has a strong lineup: Santiano will be performing their seafaring rock and singalong show on April 19. DJ BoBo will host a pop spectacle with plenty of dancing and effects on May 31. And fans of Zucchero should mark June 20 on their calendars – for a night of blues-rock with Italian charm and soulful energy.

Per and Lena stand not alone on stage. The duo is accompanied by a six-piece band.

Fulda’s Hessentag festival will feature a special event: Roxette will play on the Domplatz on June 17. Per Gessle and guest vocalist Lena Philipsson will deliver a dose of 90s nostalgia that feels more like a summer evening than a museum piece.

Top Acts for Pop Fans

Between all the XXL events, it’s worth checking out smaller halls and clubs – that’s often where the spark flies and your favorite chorus really hits home.

MilleniumKid is a contender for that “up close and personal” feeling: The artist from Gießen combines emotional pop with indie/new wave edge and will perform at Centralstation Darmstadt on May 17 – an evening for those who prefer singing along to scrolling.

For a pop singalong with energy, head to North Hesse on March 6: Kamrad will play at Stadthalle Baunatal. The artist from Wuppertal builds catchy tunes that have enough punch to feel like a live performance, not just a radio replay.

The twin brothers Heiko and Roman Lochmann now make music under the name “He/Ro”.

If you prefer guitar power in the heart of Frankfurt: HE/RO will be on stage at Club Zoom on March 12. Behind the duo are Heiko and Roman Lochmann from Darmstadt, known for becoming a YouTube phenomenon as “Die Lochis.” Today, they make energetic pop-rock.

Indie & Alternative

Amidst all the hall and stadium grandeur, it’s worth looking for a more raw experience: Peter Doherty will play at Schlachthof Wiesbaden on February 19 – British romance, punk grit, poetic self-exploration. Not a high-gloss evening, but rather rough and direct.

That club vibe continues in North Hesse: Kassel will highlight a unique night at Schlachthof on March 21 when Fortuna Ehrenfeld performs. German-language indie-pop with a theatrical flair – first funny, then suddenly very serious.

The Chemnitz trio Blond is one of the top acts at the Golden Leaves Festival.

If you enjoy that mix of fun and intelligence, stay in Wiesbaden: Blond will play at Schlachthof on May 9. The trio from Chemnitz packages sharp observations about roles and everyday life into danceable indie-pop – it seems light at first, then the punchline hits.

If you’d rather spend May 1st dancing than hiking, head to Frankfurter Batschkapp for MiA. The Berlin-based band, fronted by Mieze Katz, is one of the defining German electropop/pop-rock acts of the last twenty years. A few bars of their hits “Hungriges Herz” or “Tanz der Moleküle” are enough to evoke a feeling of recognition.

Hip-Hop & Rap

Hip-hop gets a big start in Hesse in 2026: Bushido will open the year in Arena mode at Festhalle Frankfurt on January 18 – clear statements, a big stage, a large audience.

If you prefer rap as a clever commentary on the present, you can catch Fatoni at Schlachthof Wiesbaden on March 6. Self-ironic, sharply observant – his best punchlines often come as an afterthought.

Haftbefehl is expected to perform at WCD for the fourth time.

The World Club Dome, from June 5 to 7, will transform Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt into the “world’s largest club” – including rapper Haftbefehl in the lineup. Less of a concert with a beginning and end, and more three days of constant energy.

Singer-Songwriter

After all that pressure and bass, it’s worth taking a short detour to the “songs you take with you” section. Less pyrotechnics, more lyrics that stay with you.

Bosse will bring that sound to Stadthalle Offenbach on May 6: euphoric choruses, clear lyrics, lots of energy – songs that both comfort and inspire.

It gets quirkier, rawer, and more Austrian at Schlachthof Wiesbaden on May 21: Voodoo Jürgens tells stories with Viennese charm and an abyss – characters from a bar you’ve never been to, yet instantly recognize.

If you want to spend May 1st dancing instead of hiking, head to Frankfurter Batschkapp for Clueso. The songwriter brings warmth and tempo – big melodies, but rarely banal.
