Honda has launched a fresh scooter model in Indonesia, blending features from its popular PCX and Vario lines, according to recent company announcements.
The new scooter, known as the NS150ES, is priced starting at Rp 33 million (approximately $2,075 USD) and is designed to compete in the 150cc scooter market. The launch signals Honda’s continued focus on the Indonesian market, a key region for scooter sales.
The NS150ES features a flat floorboard design reminiscent of the PCX, offering increased legroom and comfort. However, it forgoes the enhanced Smart Architecture Frame (eSAF) found in some other Honda models. The scooter is equipped with a 156.9cc engine, delivering 15.8 horsepower.
Compared to the Honda Vario 160, the PCX 160 has a torque output of 15 Nm at 6500 rpm, even as the Vario 160 delivers 13.8 Nm of torque. The PCX 160 is priced at approximately ₹ 1.11 Lakh (roughly $1,330 USD), while the Vario 160 is listed at ₹ 1.20 Lakh (approximately $1,440 USD).
Customer reviews of the PCX160 highlight its comfort and suitability for both commuting and touring, with one user noting the comfortable seat and rear suspension. Another user praised the Vario 160’s improved performance and practicality for daily apply.
The NS150ES also offers electric start and disc brakes. Available colors include +4 and +2 options. Financing options are available with down payments starting at Rp 8.59 million (approximately $540 USD) and monthly installments of Rp 807,303 (approximately $51 USD) over 36 months.
Another new model, the Honda NSS350, is positioned as a competitor to the Yamaha XMAX 300, offering increased comfort and a lower price point for long-distance touring. Sundiro Honda also recently launched the NS150ES, emphasizing its PCX and Vario-inspired styling.
