HONOR has launched its new flagship smartphone, the Magic8 Pro, in Chile, boasting a substantial 7,100mAh battery, an updated camera system, and integrated artificial intelligence tools. The device represents a significant step forward in mobile technology, as manufacturers continue to push the boundaries of battery life and AI-powered features.
The Magic8 Pro is positioned as a premium offering within HONOR’s product line, combining on-device processing with cloud-based AI services. This integration aims to deliver a more seamless and intelligent user experience.
A key feature of the new phone is its 7,100mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, exceeding the capacity typically found in high-end smartphones. HONOR also included 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging, alongside a dedicated power management chip.
The device’s camera system, dubbed AiMAGE, features a 200-megapixel telephoto main sensor designed to capture greater detail, particularly when zooming. It offers a 3.7x optical zoom and an AI-assisted digital zoom of up to 100x, and is certified with CIPA Level 5.5 stabilization to reduce motion blur.
Rounding out the camera setup is a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens for expansive scenes, along with a macro mode for close-up photography. The phone also features AI-assisted editing functions, including object removal, image expansion, and automatic cropping.
The Magic8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform and includes technologies geared towards gaming performance. Its display is a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED panel offering vibrant colors and a dynamically adjusting refresh rate to conserve battery life, with a peak brightness of 6,000 nits and a PWM dimming frequency of 4,320Hz to reduce eye strain.
The phone’s build incorporates NanoCrystal Shield for improved drop resistance and carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications for water, dust, and high-pressure water jet resistance.
The Magic8 Pro runs on MagicOS 10, HONOR’s Android-based operating system, and includes features for file transfer and connectivity between devices running different operating systems. It also integrates the Google Gemini digital assistant for productivity and assistance tasks, and features a dedicated AI button for quick access to AI functions.
The HONOR Magic8 Pro will be available in Chile in Sunrise Gold and Black, priced at $1,499,990 Chilean pesos. Consumers can purchase the device at the official HONOR store, retail partners, and mobile carriers.
