Infinix is aggressively challenging established players in the competitive budget smartphone market with the Zero X Pro, a device directly positioned against Samsung’s Galaxy M23. The new phone boasts a standout 108MP camera and a striking design, but a recent review indicates performance isn’t universally strong across all features. This report details a thorough assessment of the Zero X Pro’s capabilities, including its display, gaming performance, and camera system, based on testing by Gadgetmatch.com’s Rodneil Quiteles.

Infinix is making a name for itself in the budget smartphone market with the launch of the Zero X Pro, positioning itself as a competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy M23. A key differentiator for the Zero X Pro is its superior 108MP main camera.

The phone’s rear panel features a striking galaxy-inspired design, evoking the vastness of space and its surrounding stars. This aesthetic choice aims to set it apart in a crowded market.

Gadget reviewer Rodneil Quiteles of Gadgetmatch.com noted that the Infinix ZERO X Pro feels substantial in the hand, even without a case. “Despite its size, it’s surprisingly lightweight at just 193 grams,” Quiteles said.

AMOLED Display with 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate

The Infinix Zero X Pro boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. However, the company still has work to do optimizing the overall performance of its XOS operating system if it wants to seriously compete in the mid-range segment. This highlights the importance of software optimization alongside hardware specifications.

Quiteles also pointed out a slower-than-average fingerprint scanner. “I wasn’t expecting instant results, but this phone definitely had the slowest unlock time of any I’ve tested in this price range,” he stated.

The display resolution is a crisp 1080 x 2400 pixels with a pixel density of 395 ppi. Infinix has also included eye protection features with TUV Rheinland certification.

The screen reaches a peak brightness of 700 nits and features a 240Hz touch sampling rate. “I enjoyed listening to TWICE’s ‘The Feels’ on this phone – it’s a really enjoyable viewing experience,” Quiteles added.

In comparison, the Samsung M23, in the same price bracket, currently lags behind in display technology.

Samsung’s offering features a 6.6-inch PLS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels and a pixel density of 400 ppi.

Capable Gaming Performance

The Infinix ZERO X Pro includes a dedicated gaming mode called Game Zone. When launching games through this mode, the phone prioritizes processing power to optimize performance. This feature is becoming increasingly common as mobile gaming continues to grow in popularity.

Regarding actual gaming performance, Quiteles tested the phone with DQ Dai: A Hero’s Bonds. “I played for quite a while, completing a significant portion of the game. It took over an hour to finish, and the game looked great with no noticeable lag or glitches,” he reported.

Powering the Infinix Zero X Pro is the MediaTek Helio G95 processor, clocked at 2.05 GHz, an 8-core architecture comprised of 2x Cortex-A76 (2.05 GHz) and 6x Cortex-A55 (2 GHz). The processor is paired with a Mali-G76 3EEMC GPU and supports up to 10 GB of RAM.

Benchmark tests show the MediaTek Helio G95 outperforming the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and achieving performance comparable to the MediaTek Dimensity 800U.

The MediaTek Helio G95 is coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Gaming performance was smooth, achieving 53 fps in PUBG Mobile and 56 fps in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Periscope Telephoto Lens with 5x Zoom

The standout feature of the phone is its camera system. The primary camera boasts a 108MP sensor and up to 60x zoom capabilities. The periscope telephoto lens offers 5x optical zoom.

It also includes an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 16MP front-facing camera capable of recording 4K video at 30fps. In contrast, the Samsung M23 features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro lens, and an 8MP ultrawide lens.

However, the Samsung’s front-facing camera, at 8MP, doesn’t quite match the capabilities of the Infinix Zero X Pro. This summarizes the processor and display specifications of the Infinix Zero X Pro.
