The incident, occurring during the 59th minute, prompted a temporary suspension of play as medical staff attended to Audero, who was fortunately able to continue the match. Authorities are investigating the incident as inter Milan secured a 2-0 victory, maintaining thier lead in the league standings.

Cremonese goalkeeper Emil Audero was targeted by Inter Milan fans with a firework during Sunday’s Serie A contest. The incident occurred in the 59th minute as Audero went to ground inside the penalty area, with the pyrotechnic detonating just feet away.

Play was temporarily suspended following the incident. Audero received treatment and was able to continue. The Indonesian international goalkeeper previously played for Inter during the 2023/24 season. Inter players also expressed their dismay at the actions of their own supporters.

The “Nerazzurri,” featuring Yann Sommer in goal and Manuel Akanji in defense, secured a 2-0 victory and remain at the top of the Serie A table. Inter now has 55 points from 23 matches played. AC Milan, having played one fewer game, trails their city rivals by eight points.
