Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced Tuesday, March 3, 2026, that its naval forces conducted a large-scale drone and missile attack on a U.S. Air force base in the Sheikh Isa area of Bahrain. The announcement marks a significant escalation in regional tensions and raises concerns about potential further conflict.

According to a statement posted on Telegram, the IRGC stated that 20 drones and three missiles were launched at the U.S. Base. The attack reportedly targeted what the IRGC described as the base’s “main command headquarters.”

The IRGC reported that the strike resulted in the “destruction of the base’s main command headquarters.” This claim has not been independently verified.

The development underscores growing regional instability and could have implications for U.S. Military presence in the Gulf.
