Tehran is signaling a further escalation in anti-Western rhetoric as regional tensions remain high and internal unrest continues. Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Hamid Reza Haji Babayi, issued a stark statement Tuesday predicting a reckoning for the United States and its allies, including a symbolic “funeral prayer” to be recited within a month. The pronouncements, reported by Youm7,reflect a hardening stance from Iranian lawmakers amid ongoing disputes and perceived threats to the Islamic Republic’s stability.

Iranian lawmakers have signaled increasingly strong anti-Western sentiment, with a senior parliamentarian suggesting a reckoning for the United States and its allies. The rhetoric comes amid heightened regional tensions and follows recent unrest within Iran.

Hamid Reza Haji Babayi, Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, stated on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, that “in about a month, we will recite the funeral prayer for Trump, the United States, and their allies.” The statement, reported by Youm7, was delivered during a parliamentary session.

Babayi characterized the recent 12-day conflict and ongoing disturbances as attempts to limit the Islamic Republic of Iran, alleging that adversaries openly seek to divide the country into smaller states. He asserted that Iran’s strength and standards are unacceptable to these opposing forces.

According to Haji Babayi, the Iranian people have recognized this alleged plot and responded with strength. He indicated that Iran is preparing to reaffirm its commitment to the principles of the revolution in the coming period. The Iranian people, he said, have understood the conspiracy and responded forcefully.

Babayi outlined a series of dates as symbolic moments of resistance. He stated that on January 12th, Iran “broke the spine of sedition” and demonstrated its allegiance to religious leadership. He predicted a similar outcome on February 12th, and further reinforced this sentiment by referencing March 12th – Quds Day – as another opportunity to strengthen this commitment. “On the twelfth of March, Quds Day, this covenant with Imam and Wilayah will be strengthened again, and the Iranian nation will recite the Fatiha on the conspirators, sedition, America and all its allies,” he said.

The deputy speaker emphasized that Iran’s cultural, religious, and popular strength is a source of concern for its rivals, positioning the country as a potential influential force in a multipolar international system. He stressed the importance of aligning government and parliamentary decisions with the aspirations of the Iranian people, who he said have demonstrated resilience throughout various challenges. The development underscores growing regional tensions and Iran’s increasingly assertive stance on the international stage.
