Jeezy Sets Guinness World Record for Largest Orchestra in Hip-Hop Concert
Rap artist Jeezy, 48, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for performing with the largest orchestra for a hip-hop music concert, a feat achieved yesterday, November 1, 2025, at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Jeezy performed with 101 members of the Color of Noize Orchestra during his “TM:101 Live” residency, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough 2005 album, “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101.” The orchestra played original arrangements of Jeezy’s songs composed by Derrick Hodge, under the direction of Adam Blackstone. This record-breaking performance elevates the standard for live hip-hop shows, blending the genre with classical instrumentation.
An official Guinness World Records adjudicator, Andy Glass, presented Jeezy with a certificate on stage following the performance. “This isn’t just a win for me — it’s a moment for the culture, for music, and for Vegas,” Jeezy stated. “Thank you to every musician, every fan, and everyone who believed we could take this all the way. A winner is a dreamer who never gave up!” Jeezy, born Jay Jenkins, has had a prolific career, earning four Grammy nominations and hits like “Soul Survivor” and “Put On.” You can learn more about the history of hip-hop here.
Jeezy’s “TM:101 Live” residency continues with performances on December 19 and 21. He is currently touring in support of the 20th anniversary of “Thug Motivation 101,” having previously performed with a smaller ensemble of the Color of Noize Orchestra on July 18 at the BJCC Concert Hall.
