The Jockey Club del Perú has reported a return to growth after a decade of decline, projecting an increase of more than 6% for 2026, driven by renewed betting activity, space rentals, and a strategy to attract younger audiences.
The organization, which marked its 80th anniversary this year, generated annual revenues exceeding S/100 million in 2025. Of this total, horse racing operations accounted for nearly 60% of business, while space rentals and surface rights contributed about 24%, and social activities made up the remaining 16%.
“All three business units have grown. We’ve seen an increase close to 5%, and we expect to close 2026 with growth above 6%,” said Danilo Chávez Abad, president of the Jockey Club del Perú.
The turnaround comes amid a global downturn in horse racing, with the club focusing on expanding its appeal through events and outreach to new demographics as part of its long-term recovery plan.
