Popular podcaster Johanna Nordström is enjoying both professional and personal success, marked by a recent move of her show “Ursäkta” and the announcement of an upcoming child with partner Adam Smedberg. Speaking at the premiere of Alex Schulman’s play “mors dag,” Nordström discussed the financial benefits of her career shift and offered a glimpse into her upcoming travels. The interview, conducted by expressen, reveals a candid look at Nordström’s current priorities and a generally positive outlook.

Johanna Nordström is enjoying a winning streak both on and off the air.

The popular podcaster’s move of her hit show, “Ursäkta,” has also proven lucrative, according to recent reports.

“When you podcast, you earn good money,” she said.

Nordström discussed her friendship with author Alex Schulman while speaking with Expressen on the red carpet at the premiere of Schulman’s play “Mors dag” at the Royal Dramatic Theatre.

“I actually know Alex first and foremost through Amanda, his wife,” she explained. “But we’ve also podcasted together on Perfect Day for quite a while and seen each other in that context.”

Earlier in January, Nordström and Edvin Törnblom moved their successful podcast “Ursäkta” from Perfect Day to Podme, placing it behind a paywall.

“So, how much did you get to move to Podme?” Nordström playfully asked, with a laugh.

Was it a good deal?

“Yes, but of course when you change jobs, you negotiate your salary. That’s just how it is. Absolutely.”

“But, honestly, when you podcast, you earn good money. So to speak. So I… I’m not going to stand here and complain about it.”

Nordström’s personal life is also thriving, as she recently announced she is expecting a child with partner Adam Smedberg. The couple is also planning a vacation.

“Things are good. Five out of five, as usual,” she said.

“We’re going to Thailand soon.”

Is this a work trip or a romantic getaway?

“I think it’s a romantic trip. A private romantic trip.”

Late in 2023, Nordström revealed on the “Ursäkta” podcast that she flew business class to Thailand while her boyfriend flew economy, a decision she attributed to not wanting to pay for upgrades for the entire group.

“You know what he gets now? He gets to sit in business. Yes, really. Now it’s business. But I’m sitting in economy. He’s sitting in business. We’ve switched it up,” she said with a chuckle.

Earlier this year, Bianca Ingrosso published a vlog from her extremely luxurious trip to Phuket, Thailand, which included accommodations in a villa costing up to 220,000 SEK per night. The popularity of travel vlogs continues to drive interest in luxury destinations.

Will you and Adam be taking a “Bianca”-style trip to celebrate the podcast move?

“No, that’s not going to happen. We’re going to stay in a bungalow on the beach.”

“We’ll be staying at a few different hotels.”

Nordström then cut the interview short on the red carpet when she spotted a personal idol in the theatre’s foyer.

“Is Leif GW Persson here?” she exclaimed, gesturing that she was getting goosebumps.

“You know, this is the elite. These aren’t the people who come to Edvin and my events,” she laughed before disappearing into the crowd.
