Jon Bon Jovi Announces 2026 Stadium Tour Following Vocal Cord Surgery Recovery
Rock icon Jon Bon Jovi announced today a run of stadium shows for 2026, marking a significant return to touring after undergoing surgery to repair a damaged vocal cord in 2022.
The tour will begin with a nine-night residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City, followed by three nights at Wembley Stadium in London, starting August 28, 2026. Bon Jovi, 63, revealed the plans following a period of uncertainty about his ability to perform again after the surgery, which initially threatened his career. The successful recovery allows the band to support their sixteenth studio album, Forever, released in 2024, and celebrate their 40th anniversary.
“It sucked,” Bon Jovi stated plainly, reflecting on the initial challenges following the surgery. “We were releasing the album…and we were going to do our 40th anniversary celebration and tour. But I had this traumatising throat surgery, and as we released [the album], I started to rehearse with the band and I said, ‘Guys, I’m sorry, but I’m just not up to it yet.’” He expressed excitement about his vocal capabilities, adding, “The only good news I can tell you is there’s nothing in the catalogue I can’t sing.” The band has also expanded to a seven-piece lineup with the addition of Everett Bradley and John Shanks. This tour is particularly noteworthy as live music revenues continue to climb, demonstrating the enduring appeal of established artists like Bon Jovi.
The singer also shared updates on his family life, including the recent birth of his first grandchild through his son Jake and daughter-in-law Millie Bobby Brown, and the impending arrival of another grandchild with his eldest son Jesse. He also spoke fondly of his son Romeo’s burgeoning music career with his band, Lawn, emphasizing Romeo’s desire for independence from nepotism. Bon Jovi also recently collaborated with Bruce Springsteen on a new version of “Red, White and Jersey” from the Forever (Legendary Edition) album, a partnership he described as “pretty incredible.”
Bon Jovi indicated that the band is prepared with multiple setlists to ensure varied performances throughout the tour, and officials stated they will continue to monitor his health as preparations progress.
