Though, a transfer will likely prove challenging, as Fluminense intends to retain Serna and is prepared to offer him a contract extension.
Kevin Serna is quickly becoming a name to watch in South American football. After a standout season with ADT, the midfielder moved to Alianza Lima in 2024 and subsequently earned a transfer to Fluminense, where he has continued to impress.
Now, his strong performances have caught the attention of one of Argentina’s biggest clubs. According to Globo Esporte, Boca Juniors has expressed interest in acquiring Kevin Serna, with plans potentially unfolding in 2026.
However, securing Serna won’t be easy. Argentine football transfer expert Germán GarcÃa Grova reported via X (formerly Twitter) that Fluminense currently has no intention of selling the player in the near future.
“Fluminense informed Kevin Serna’s agent that they do not wish to transfer him at this time,” Grova stated on the social media platform.
He added that the Brazilian club is also planning to offer Serna a salary increase to ensure he remains with the team, and that Boca Juniors has been informed of this decision.
This means the immediate future of Kevin Serna remains in Rio de Janeiro with Fluminense. He is currently under contract with the club through the end of the 2027 season and is valued at 5 million euros by the specialized portal Transfermarkt.

Boca Juniors turned their attention to the former Alianza Lima player after failing to secure Colombian forward Marino Hinestroza. The Argentine club reportedly submitted an offer, but Fluminense is determined to hold onto a player who has become a key contributor. Serna has tallied 13 goals and nine assists for the club.
Kevin Serna joined Fluminense in July 2024, with the club paying Alianza Lima $1.8 million for a 70% stake in his transfer rights.
