KGHM Polska Miedź Reaches Wage Agreement with Unions
KGHM Polska Miedź has reached an agreement with trade unions regarding wage conditions, providing for an increase in base wages for employees. The agreement, finalized on February 25, 2026, will see a 6.8 percent rise in basic pay rates effective January 1, 2026, the company announced. This agreement comes after discussions regarding pay scales and potential labor disputes.
In addition to the wage increase, KGHM plans to implement reclassifications within its divisions starting in April 2026, impacting 20 percent of the workforce. The specifics of these reclassifications will be determined through negotiations between employers and local trade union organizations.
The company also stated that, based on production and financial results for the first half of the year, the parties will analyze wage trends within the company to assess the possibility of achieving at least a 7 percent increase in average total wages in 2026 compared to the previous year. Annual wage negotiations at KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Are governed by the Collective Labor Agreement.
“I am convinced that good and substantive dialogue between Management and the social side is important for both Employees and the entire organization. I treat this as a good omen for the future and I count on its continuation,” said KGHM CEO Remigiusz Paszkiewicz, thanking the social side for their constructive approach to the important negotiations.
The agreement is seen as a positive sign for the long-term financial stability and development of KGHM, a major player in the copper and silver mining industry. The company’s ability to reach a consensus with unions underscores a commitment to maintaining positive labor relations.
