Klaus Sonstad:
The Comedian Gave His Artist Girlfriend a Very Special Birthday Gift.
Norwegian television host and comedian Klaus Sonstad is entering 2026 as an engaged man. The 56-year-old proposed to singer and musical theatre artist Julie Dahle Aagård on her birthday, December 30th.
“It’s an enormous feeling,” the happy couple told TV 2.
Sonstad popped the question on Dahle Aagård’s 47th birthday, staging a theatrical proposal with a script where the two played opposite each other before he finally asked for her hand in marriage.
“The beautiful thing was that it was a gift for both of us. The proposal was my birthday gift to her, and her saying ‘yes’ was a gift to me,” the comedian shared.

The couple then celebrated with family and friends at a restaurant in Trondheim, which Sonstad described as the perfect end to the day.
The happy news was also shared on Instagram, where they showcased the diamond ring. “Three years in four pictures. Hello 2026!” they wrote alongside the carousel of images. This engagement adds to a growing trend of celebrity couples starting the new year with exciting announcements.
Sonstad and Dahle Aagård confirmed their relationship in 2023, becoming a couple in the fall of 2022. They first met when Dahle Aagård was a guest performer at Sonstad’s Christmas show in Olavshallen in 2021.
Sonstad has two children, Magnus (25) and Milla (22), with his ex-wife Nina Fjelnset, from whom he divorced in 2005.

Dahle Aagård is currently starring in the musical “Evig Ung” (Forever Young) at Nye Hjorten Teater in Trondheim, where Sonstad also works. Sonstad is known for his work on programs such as “Kvelden er din” (The Evening is Yours) on TV 2 and the radio duo “Are og Odin” on NRK.
As for the wedding, the two Trondheim residents are in complete agreement about where it will take place.
“We’re going to celebrate our love in Norway’s decidedly finest and most beautiful city – Trondheim,” he told the network.
