A team of 11 Indonesian Army personnel, led by Acting Sub-district Military Commander 2nd Lieutenant Inf Avonso DJ Paraira, recently completed a cleanup effort at the KDKMP Manusak complex in Kupang Tengah District, Kupang Regency. The initiative, carried out on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, underscores the military’s commitment to community health and maintaining public spaces.
The personnel focused on improving the surrounding environment of the KDKMP Manusak, a local cooperative facility. Work included leveling the front courtyard with white soil to create a more accessible and comfortable area. Maintaining clean and accessible public spaces is a key component of preventative health, reducing risks of injury and promoting community well-being.
In addition to the courtyard improvements, the team trimmed tree branches along the north side of the property to enhance safety and order. They also cleared and cleaned rainwater drainage channels that had become clogged, preventing potential water accumulation that could damage the area and create breeding grounds for disease vectors.
According to a statement from the acting sub-district military commander, the community cleanup is a demonstration of the strong relationship between the military and the local population. “This activity is a real form of the TNI’s unity with the people,” he said. “Through working together and a spirit of mutual cooperation, we hope to create a clean, tidy, and comfortable environment, while strengthening the relationship between regional authorities and the community in Kupang Tengah District.”
