Following a recent escalation of conflict in the region, an Israeli military strike on the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon has drawn condemnation from Lebanese political groups and raised concerns about civilian casualties. The strike, which occurred on the evening of November 18th, reportedly resulted in at least 13 deaths and numerous injuries, according to Lebanese health officials. This incident occurs amidst heightened tensions stemming from operation Al-Aqsa Flood and ongoing disputes over ceasefire agreements and Lebanese sovereignty, prompting calls for international intervention.

A Lebanese political coalition condemned an Israeli military strike on the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in the southern city of Sidon on Tuesday night, November 18, resulting in multiple civilian deaths and injuries. The “Meeting of Parties, Forces, and National Figures” – a group aligned with resistance movements – described the attack as a “horrific crime” adding to what it called Israel’s extensive record of offenses.
The coalition stated that the attack is part of a broader campaign of destruction waged by the Israeli military against Palestinians wherever they reside, supported by what it described as unlimited American and Western backing that provides political and military cover for continued actions.
The group dismissed Israeli claims that the strike targeted a Hamas training facility, calling them part of a long-standing pattern of false accusations used to justify attacks on civilians since the occupation of Palestine.
According to the coalition, these claims are undermined by on-the-ground evidence and images of the victims, particularly as Israel faces increasing international isolation following the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
The coalition emphasized that the strike represents a continued violation of the ceasefire agreement and a disregard for Lebanese sovereignty, reflecting a pattern of escalating aggression and deliberate targeting of civilian areas.
The statement asserted that the attack is part of a systematic terrorist plan aimed at breaking the will of the Palestinian people and weakening their support base, but that these efforts consistently fail in the face of Palestinian resilience.
The “Meeting of Lebanese Parties” called on the United Nations and international organizations, particularly those concerned with human rights, to “immediately intervene to stop the Zionist brutality” and take necessary measures to deter further Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
The coalition also urged the Lebanese government to file an urgent complaint with the UN Security Council and take all possible political and diplomatic steps, in coordination with friendly nations, to pressure Israel and halt its repeated attacks on Lebanon.
The coalition affirmed that these attacks, regardless of their severity, will not weaken the Palestinians’ determination to continue their struggle, but will instead strengthen their commitment to resistance as the only way to protect their national rights and achieve liberation.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced Wednesday that 13 people were killed in the Israeli military strike on the Ain al-Hilweh camp.
The ministry also reported that several others were injured, and ambulances continue to transport the wounded to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Palestinian sources within the camp told Quds Press that the strike hit a closed sports field, which is typically crowded at that time, significantly increasing the number of casualties and evoking memories of past massacres within the camps.
Hamas sources confirmed to Quds Press that the strike did not target any senior Hamas leaders, and that “all the victims are residents of the camp,” stressing that the incident was a “complete Israeli massacre” that cannot be justified under any pretext.
