Comsys Ghana Partners with Eutelsat to Expand Internet Connectivity Across Ghana
Accra, Ghana – Leading technology solutions provider Comsys Ghana Limited has announced a strategic partnership with global satellite network operator Eutelsat to deploy Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services throughout Ghana, aiming to significantly improve internet access, particularly in underserved areas.
The collaboration will leverage Comsys’s expertise in enterprise technology and Eutelsat’s innovative LEO satellite technology to extend connectivity nationwide. “We are excited for the possibilities that this partnership brings as we anticipate more rollouts and deployments nationwide soon,” said Femi Lamptey, Head of Operations at Comsys Ghana, at today’s launch event in Accra. “We cannot wait to see how our clients are able to use such new connectivity—especially in new areas—for the growth of technology and industries in Ghana.”
Eutelsat’s Sales Director for West/Central Africa and Morocco, Patrice Segura, explained that the partnership is part of the company’s broader expansion across Africa, and that Comsys was selected after a rigorous evaluation process. He stated that Eutelsat will provide the infrastructure and innovations to empower Comsys to deliver seamless internet services to various sectors and increase penetration into remote regions. This move comes as Ghana seeks to bridge the digital divide and foster economic growth through improved digital infrastructure – a key component of the country’s National Communications Authority’s strategic objectives.
Ing. Raymond Akuetteh Bill, acting director of IT at the National Communications Authority (NCA), expressed optimism about the rollout, noting that satellite connectivity offers both competition and options to the market and provides a reliable backup in the event of fiber optic disruptions. Eutelsat’s ONEWEB LEO service combines the advantages of both Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) and LEO satellites to deliver consistent connectivity on land, at sea, and in the air.
Officials anticipate further deployments across the country in the coming months, with a focus on enhancing connectivity for businesses and communities in remote areas.

The Sales Director for West/Central Africa and Morocco of Eutelsat, Mr. Patrice Segura, noted that the deal formed part of his company’s broader expansion drive across Africa, having found a worthy partner in Comsys Ghana.

Under this partnership, we will be providing the infrastructure and I innovations that will empower Comsys to provide seamless internet services to clients across various sectors of the economy and enhance their penetration into remote parts of the country.”
On his part, the acting director of IT at the National Communications Authority (NCA), Ing. Raymond Akuetteh Bill expressed optimism that the rollout of Eutelsat’s market-leading communications infrastructure in Ghana will enhance connectivity and experience for internet users.
“As the industry regulator, we’re excited about this partnership that will enhance internet connectivity, especially improving access to businesses in remote parts of the country. Satellite connectivity brings both competitions and options to the market,” said.
He added: “In the rare instance of disruptions as a result of fibre cuts, businesses can still operate seamlessly with satellites connectivity that has the capacity to carry enterprise solutions.”
